Usage
Choose the desired language from the dropdown menu and type in the desired query in the search bar provided. This search engine by default searches in English language. After choosing the language, type your query. At the end of the query "DO NOT FORGET TO GIVE A SPACE" in order to let the language toggle properly.

Choose the search type/filter from the dropdown menu. Currently available search filters are ISBN based, Title of the books, their author and their content based. This search engine by default searches on the basis of the title of the book as it is associated with the OCRWeb portal by CVIT,IIITH. After choosing the filter, proceed to search and click on the search button to view results.

Finally you can view the results ofthe searched query. Here for example, the user search Munshi Prem Chand in the search bar and language was chosen as English and filter as Author. The available books in the database were only Godan.Therefore, the results were for Godan. User can download and read complete book by clicking on Read More link in the abstract of the book. One thing which can be future work is word spotting amongst the pages of the generated results in certain book.

About CVITSearch

CVIT,IIITH has initiated this Digital Library of India to develop a framework which encompasses learning resources in Indic Scripts with searching facility, as an academic research project. The design of the platform is such that these learning resources can easily be found out by the users with minimum efforts and time. Currently the search is based in 5 different Indian languages It is being arranged to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular form of access devices. It is an extension of OCRWeb project by CVIT which takes printed Indic Script documents and processes them for character recoginition. It is being developed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. The pilot project is devising a framework that is being scaled up with respect to content volume and diversity to serve all levels and disciplines of learners. It is being developed at Center for Visual Information and Technology, International Institute of Information and Technology Hyderabad and is being supported by British Library and IIITH Library currently.
